Things all good here. Pete and Nate are 6 1/2, in first grade and active in Cub Scouts. They are doing well. Travis is out of town right now, helping set up King of the Hammers in California. Life hasn't changed much, just keeping on moving with the boys. Travis and I both stepped down after 9 years as Jeep club officers - time to hand over the reigns. We are back to organizing our annual fun-run though. it did quite well
I belive it to be right under 20K lbs with the trailer and Jeep added in.
It did the 9 mile long 6% grade in 4th gear at something like 37 MPH which was just great considering it is rated at 190HP.
AS soo as i got to the top of the divide i jusmped out with my infared temp gun in hand and checker the rear axle , trans , turbo and wheel bearing and hub temps. All ws normal.
Half way down the other side I pulled over and checked all the brake temps it was all good.
(The chassis is rated at 32,700 lbs and it has the large air brakes for that weight also.)
Of course it has the 5.9L Cummins Diesel. and the bigger truck radiator and all other parts. The temp gauge didn't move one bit. on the way out west it got right at 10MPG on the way back I was holding to the floor (70MPH) and it dropped to 9.5 mpg.
I am planning a large stripe decal down the side with a large U-RV on it. I had a skunk that frequented our condo parking lot. Used to feed him every day, he was actually pretty tame. I used to sit on my porch and tell him of my extensive searches for Jeep chicks. He was a good listener!!]]>
