I contacted Debbie from RORP and the price for two days of wheeling, a special guided trail Saturday afternoon on new land, and dinner Saturday night is $45.00 per vehicle. I believe it is $5.00 extra per passenger. I'm still waiting on the price for the campground and will post that info ASAP so you all can make your reservations. In May, I'll probably need a final count to give to the folks at RORP but wanted to post the price so you all can plan accordingly.

I got an email from Debbie @ RORP today. She's excited about us coming to their park. They are always great! Suz, if you need any help with Pine Lakes reservations or anything (I am thinking they require a deposit) let me know while I am still close. (Mid April I am moving to FL...will miss having RORP in my 'backyard'!) Hey anyone have any objections to 'outsiders'. Would like to invite some locals (mostly single!) to join me for at least for a day. I will try to get them to join up before then maybe??? Then they won't be outsiders!

Spacely.......most certainly.
Mambi, I would think any and all are welcome. Just brings in more recruits for the J.S. site. I was also going to invite the "singles" from Midwestjeepthing since they are all close. As long as I have people who register on this site to keep it all together, it shouldn't be that difficult to handle the large event. We'll just have the shrimp Friday night and say its for the "Oldies but Goodie" members!! LoL Then, the dinner Saturday night will be reserved already. So, big numbers shouldn't be a problem.(WHOHOOOO.....no cooking for Suz this year!! Happy Dance Happy Dance--although I could probably be talked into omelettes on Sunday morning) Hey, Julianna, can J.S. set up a PayPal account so I have all the money together sometime in May for RORP? As far as the campground, I'll put up the general deposit (if its not too much) and then you all can make your own reservations through them. I'll call back today and try to get someone. To be continued...........

The campground is Pine Lakes and they will give us a 10% discount off 10 or more campsites. Call them at: 1-877-808-7463 to reserve your place. Please let them know you are with JeepingSingles when you call. She is trying to put us close to the bathrooms with a central campfire so I can burn up some stuff again!! heh

i may have to buy another jeep for this event. i'm not going to be road worthy by then.
that would leave me with 2 out of 5 vehicles that i could drive. i think i'm turning red neck.

Hi All, This is Debbie here from Rockport Off-Road Park. We are very excited about JS spending some time at the park with us. I've spoke with Suz and exchanged emails with TJ and Terry but I wanted to make sure that all were aware that kids 16 and under are free that weekend at the park for your group.(They must be accompanied by a parent.) We have 1600 acres with trails for all types of vehicle capabilities. We've got guides ready to take folks out Saturday afternoon for stock, modified and tuff stuff. We will provide a nice meal Saturday after you come off of the trails. Pike County Illinois loves Jeepers and Offroaders! Local businesses will be very gracious towards you and your visit. Mention the fact that you are a Jeeper to local merchants and look at the smiles on the faces! We look forward to meeting all of the folks from JS. Please let us know if any questions or concerns come up that we can help with. Debbie

Guess I gotta get off my lazy ass and call the campground.
I'm looking to leave June 2nd (Wed. Nite) and make the 4 hours to Windsor in one run... and than Thursday would be a run across the border for the 10 hour marathon to Rockport.. Pulling in Thursday Nite. Gives me all day Friday and Saturday, possibly Sunday if I wanna superchamp 14 hours home on Monday. Otherwise pull out Sunday and go half way home
However, I can extend the vacation time either way so if anyone wants to head down earlier, or come back later. I prefer travel company on long drives.
Had to post this one..
[On the CB] Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c'mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure. By golly, it's clean clear to Flag Town, c'mon. Yeah, that's a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy...
Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June In a Kenworth pullin' logs Cab-over Pete with a reefer on And a Jimmy haulin' hogs We is headin' for bear on I-one-oh 'Bout a mile outta Shaky Town I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck. "And I'm about to put the hammer down."
[Chorus] 'Cause we got a little convoy Rockin' through the night. Yeah, we got a little convoy, Ain't she a beautiful sight? Come on and join our convoy Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way. We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'Cross the U-S-A. Convoy!
[On the CB] Ah, breaker, Pig Pen, this here's the Duck. And, you wanna back off them hogs? Yeah, 10-4, 'bout five mile or so. Ten, roger. Them hogs is gettin' in-tense up here.
By the time we got into Tulsa Town, We had eighty-five trucks in all. But they's a roadblock up on the cloverleaf, And them bears was wall-to-wall. Yeah, them smokies is thick as bugs on a bumper; They even had a bear in the air! I says, "Callin' all trucks, this here's the Duck. "We about to go a-huntin' bear."
[Chorus] 'Cause we got a great big convoy Rockin' through the night. Yeah, we got a great big convoy, Ain't she a beautiful sight? Come on and join our convoy Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way. We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'Cross the U-S-A. Convoy!
[On the CB] Ah, you wanna give me a 10-9 on that, Pig Pen? Negatory, Pig Pen; you're still too close. Yeah, them hogs is startin' to close up my sinuses. Mercy sakes, you better back off another ten.
Well, we rolled up Interstate 44 Like a rocket sled on rails. We tore up all of our swindle sheets, And left 'em settin' on the scales. By the time we hit that Chi-town, Them bears was a-gettin' smart: They'd brought up some reinforcements From the Illinoise National Guard. There's armored cars, and tanks, and jeeps, And rigs of ev'ry size. Yeah, them chicken coops was full'a bears And choppers filled the skies. Well, we shot the line and we went for broke With a thousand screamin' trucks An' eleven long-haired Friends a' Jesus In a chartreuse micra-bus.
[On the CB] Ah, Rubber Duck to Sodbuster, come over. Yeah, 10-4, Sodbuster? Lissen, you wanna put that micra-bus right behind that suicide jockey? Yeah, he's haulin' dynamite, and he needs all the help he can get.
Well, we laid a strip for the Jersey shore And prepared to cross the line I could see the bridge was lined with bears But I didn't have a dog-goned dime. I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck. "We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll." So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4."
[Chorus] 'Cause we got a mighty convoy Rockin' through the night. Yeah, we got a mighty convoy, Ain't she a beautiful sight? Come on and join our convoy Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way. We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'Cross the U-S-A.
Convoy! Ah, 10-4, Pig Pen, what's your twenty? Convoy! OMAHA? Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there fer shure. Well, mercy Convoy! sakes, good buddy, we gonna back on outta here, so keep the bugs off your glass and the bears off your... Convoy! tail. We'll catch you on the flip-flop. This here's the Rubber Duck on the side. Convoy! We gone. 'Bye,'bye.

Hey Kev,
Slight problem with the plan. I'm in Peterborough for a conference on June 2nd. My plan is to get back to Hamilton that night, repack and do a full day of driving starting at some horrific hour in the morning on the 3rd. So either I can meet you in Windsor at whatever time you were planning to leave, or you can meet me in Hamilton if you're leaving from your place.
And Brian and I were talking about staying an extra day or two afterwards. Nothing decided for sure, but I'll let you know.

14 hrs in one day is a long drive alone. Long if you have to drive the whole way too. I've done 12 hr runs and that is about my limit for a day.

Well Jenn, we have a few months to plan it all out, so I'm sure we'll find some time to chit chat between now and than.

According to mapquest it's a 32 hour 20 minute drive totaling 2091.46 miles from my house. If I drove the Jeep out I would have to buy a new set of tires by the time I got there. My boggers would just melt away! Too bad it's so far away. I would use up most of my vacation time that I'm going to need at the end of the summer or else I might drive my car down and ride shotgun with someone.
